Synaesthesia

Fashion film for the collection “the colour of x” designed by Ann-Kathrin Zieger. The collection was part of her final exam for the ESMOD fashion university in Berlin.

X is a interdisciplinary concept of a moving between different design fields. In the 2013 autumn/winter collection of X, the designer tries to illustrate how different the world could taste or sound. Synaesthesia may be difficult in certain situations, for example if a piece of music were to taste bitter or unpleasant, because it is inescapable. But a person with synesthesia may have certain talents or perspectives that people without synaesthesia could not understand. Imagine you can taste or listen to things which can not be experienced by just anyone.

The film illustrates this design concept by the means of subtle effects that give the pictures another dimension of experience.
